Community Planning & Enhancement Strategies: Winnipeg and Beyond

The expansion of CES to our Winnipeg office is a reflection of our commitment to continually improve our ability to meet and exceed our client’s expectations. None of this would be possible without the trust that our incredible Ontario clientele have given us since 2010.

Located in Treaty #1 Territory on the traditional lands of the Anishinabe, Ininew, Oji-Cree, Dene, and Dakota, our Winnipeg office allows us to continue working closely with communities and local organizations to help make a meaningful impact. By providing more personalized attention and support to the region, our work in Manitoba is about creating lasting partnerships and not only meeting the specific needs of our vibrant client communities but also contributing to their thriving futures.

ABOUT US

Community Enhancement Strategies in Manitoba

At CES, we offer a comprehensive suite of services to support community planning and development through informed decision-making. From GIS and Mapping to documenting traditional knowledge, to fostering sustainable development, we’re dedicated to empowering local growth.

Our team combines community insights with technical expertise to provide solutions that contribute to local capacity and goals. Whether it’s through cutting-edge mapping technologies or emergency management planning, our services are always collaborative and tailored to the unique cultures, histories, and vision of First Nation communities across Manitoba.

Community Planning Services

With community planning services, we focus the sustainable and informed development of communities local to Northern Ontario to meet the needs of not just today, but future generations. We strive to integrate the vision and goals of our client’s into every project through community-driven land use and territory planning, flood vulnerability studies, and emergency mapping.

GIS & Mapping

As the backbone of CES, we provide cutting-edge, convenient, and user-friendly GIS and mapping tools to our clients and partners across Northwestern Ontario. With the integration of these digital tools, communities can independently plan for future developments, track mining claims, and plan for extreme weather (such as flooding and fires) with a clear picture of their lands guiding the way.

Drone Services

Our offer applications in many types of projects, including gravesite mapping, infrastructure inventories, flood risk and shoreline mapping, volumetric calculations, and creative video production. Additionally, CES offers drone training at our Thunder Bay office and to organizations within the area, building capacity in drone operations to support community initiatives.

Client Support

From project initiation to reporting and into the future, our Thunder Bay team provides ongoing client support for each and every initiative. We help with developing project scopes, monitoring timelines, financial budgeting, and stakeholder engagement, giving our clients piece of mind and bandwidth to support their other responsibilities on the go.

Traditional Knowledge

We are so grateful and privileged to be trusted with collecting such invaluable knowledge. CES upholds, respects, and protects the traditional knowledge shared with us by Elders and Knowledge Keepers of our Indigenous clientele. All project data remains the property of our client communities as we work with them to ensure this traditional knowledge is protected into the future.

Training

CES creates customized training courses for participants of all different skill levels to build capacity in using the deliverables created through our projects. We are big believers in building capacity within the communities that we work with. Drone training, GIS/GPS, and other skill building courses are available in Thunder Bay and across Northwestern Ontario to promote local capacity within communities.
